JENNIFER TUTTLE

D I R E C T O R

I believe that the reason theatre exists is to tell stories that illuminate the human experience.  Theatre helps us find answers to humanity’s biggest questions. I believe that theatre enriches the culture, and the community. I believe the job of the theatre artist is to tell those stories to the very best of our ability, and to make stories accessible and truthful to those who share in the communal experience of going to the theatre. I believe representation is essential to telling our truths, and put emphasis on EDI (equity, diversity and inclusion) both onstage and offstage.

In A Practical Handbook for the Actor, the authors say: “The theatre may now be the only place in society where people can go to hear the truth.”  I believe that is true now more than ever.
